Biography

Bashir Ademola RAJI is a Professor of Soil Science in the Department of Agronomy with over 40 years of university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
He served as the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo between 2012 and 2016. Before then he had served as Head of the Department, Director of Academic Planning, Dean of Student Affairs, and Chairman of the University Computer Based Testing Centre.
He has supervised and co-supervised over 10 PhDs and 15 M.Sc theses. He has to his credit over 100 Journal publications in the areas of characterization and management of marginal land resources for sustainable agricultural production. He has won several research grants. He has also served as a consultant to the government (Federal and State-NALDA, FME, FMARD), and International organizations (World Bank, AfDB, IFDC, FAO) in several soil surveys, land degradation evaluation, and soil testing projects. He was the President of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria (2018-2022).
