Dr. Folusho A. Bankole, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin, Nigeria was born in Lagos Nigeria. She attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School Apapa, Lagos, and later earned her first degree in Agricultural Science (Crop Production) from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Her second degree was in Agronomy (Plant Breeding) from the University of Ilorin. She joined the services of the University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 2011 as an Assistant Lecturer, hereafter she was granted a Staff Development award and also got a PhD scholarship at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture under the Drought Tolerant Maize for Africa Project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2013 which she completed in 2017. An astute researcher with an interest in the use of biotechnological tools to solve drought problems which will ensure food security in the face of the changing climate. She has published in reputable international journals and attended several academic/professional conferences, within and outside Nigeria. Dr. Bankole coordinates the activities of the Acceleration Genetic Gains (AGG) in Wheat and Maize Project for the Southern Guinea Savanna of Nigeria.
