My name is James Ukwumonu Yahaya, and I’m from Idah Local Government Area in Kogi State. I was born on February 11, 1988, to Mr. and Mrs. Yahaya A. Suleiman.

I began my education in Ilorin at St. William’s RCM Primary School, completing in 1999, and continued at St. Anthony’s Secondary School, graduating in 2005. In 2013, I earned a First Class degree in Agriculture from the University of Ilorin. I completed my NYSC with the Department of Agronomy at the same university and later obtained a Master’s degree in Soil Science there in 2016.

From 2017 to 2019, I worked as a Farm Manager with Doyin Investment Nigeria Ltd (Farm Division) in Agbamu. In 2019, I began a PhD in Soil Science at the University of Ghana, where I’m currently awaiting my thesis defense.

My research focuses on sustainable agriculture through microbial biotechnology, particularly on biofertilizer and bioherbicide development, bioremediation, carbon and nitrogen cycling, biological nitrogen fixation, and biochar-manure compost enrichment. I’ve published widely in respected local and international journals.
