James Ukwumonu Yahaya is a Soil Scientist and researcher from Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. He was born on 11 February 1988 and had his primary and secondary education at St. William’s RCM Primary School, Ilorin, and St. Anthony’s Secondary School, respectively, completing them in 1999 and 2005.He obtained a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Ilorin in 2013, completed his NYSC programme with the Department of Agronomy, University of Ilorin, and obtained a Master’s degree in Soil Science from the University of Ilorin in 2016. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a Farm Manager with Doyin Investment Nigeria Ltd. (Farm Division), Agbamu. He subsequently commenced his Ph.D. in Soil Science at the University of Ghana, Legon, and was awarded the degree in August 2024. His research interests focus on sustainable agriculture, microbial biotechnology, biofertilizer and bioherbicide development, bioremediation, carbon and nitrogen cycling, biological nitrogen fixation, and biochar-manure compost enrichment. He has published research articles in reputable local and international journals and is currently a researcher in the Department of Agronomy, University of Ilorin.
