Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Agronomy is to be an international unit of excellence in the development of skilled Soil & Crop Science graduates that will serve humanity.

Objectives

• Provide sound basic training in all relevant courses in the field of Agronomy,
• Produce agricultural personnel that have broad-based knowledge and skills for the development of the agricultural sector of the economy,
• Provide consultancy services to the Federal, State, and Local Governments and public sectors in the global community, and
• Prepare students to undertake research work and disseminate findings to the farmers.
• Produce graduates who have a broad knowledge of Crop Husbandry and soil Science and can proffer solutions to challenges facing crop production and land degradation.
• Produce competent graduates who can be innovative in the agricultural sector, this creates jobs for others
